HAVE QUESTIONS?
WE HAVE ANSWERS!

What documents do I need for a Royal Caribbean Cruise when traveling with my children that share my last name?

Passports are always the best option. If you don't have passports and your minor kids are at least 16 and share your last name you will need a state issue ID and an official Birth Certificate (with the seal) no photo copies. If your children are 15 and under, an official birth certificate is needed. Please remember all government issued documentation of your name must match your booking information. You can find the information on Royal Caribbeans website. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/plan-a-cruise/travel-documents

What documentation do I need if my kids are under 18 and our last names are different?

If you have a different last name than you minor child, then you will need to bring their Passport and official documentation of the name change. If you do not have a passport you will need an official birth Certificate (no photo copies) and the official document stating the name change. Examples of the documentation are Marriage License, Divorce decree, Adoption papers, or official government name change document. This link will take you to Royal Caribbeans Travel Document hub for more details.

What documentation do I need if I am bringing my minor grand child on a cruise with me?

If you are traveling with your grand child and you are not their legal guardian than you will need a notarized form signed by their legal guardian, plus either a passport or official birth certificate. Please see Royal Caribbean's Travel Document hub for more details.

Do I need a passport for a cruise?

This depends on the itinerary. For closed-loop cruises (those that begin and end at the same U.S. port), you can use a birth certificate and government-issued ID. For most other cruises, a passport is required.

Is Seasickness a common issue?

Seasickness can happen, but cruise ships are equipped with stabilizers to minimize motion. If you’re prone to seasickness, consider a cabin in the middle of the ship where movement is least noticeable and bring some anti nausea patches.

Can I stay in touch with family and friends back home?

Yes, most cruise ships offer Wi-Fi packages for purchase. However, connectivity may not be as strong or fast as you’re used to at home. Be aware, your phone carrier service will not work at Sea. Please put your phone in Airplane mode to avoid roaming charges.

What is the policy for tipping on a Cruise?

Most cruise lines automatically add gratuities to your onboard account, but the amount can be adjusted at guest services. Tips are typically given to dining and housekeeping staff.

Can I bring my own alcohol on board a cruise?

Policies vary by cruise line. Some allow you to bring a limited amount of wine or champagne, but most prohibit bringing spirits or beer on board.

Do I need Travel Insurance for a Cruise?

It’s highly recommended. Travel insurance can cover unforeseen circumstances like medical emergencies, trip cancellation, or lost luggage. Policies vary so it is important to review the coverage.
